 Parking:

Attention! Speed limit in Vecaki territory is 20 km/h! You can see the parking spaces in the map below, please do park in those in order to avoid problems with local traffic police. Competition center is located next to rail station across the railway.

 Programme:

22.04. Middle distance (WRE)
Start 14.00.
Classes WM8,WM10, WM85, M90, OPEN1, OPEN2 start at any time from 14.00 till 16.30

All W21E and M21E runners must leave the competition centre before 15:55

23.04. Middle distance
Start 11.00.
Classes WM8,WM10, WM85, M90, OPEN1, OPEN2 start at any time from 11.00 till 13.30

Chasing start for the elite classes on the 2nd day!

12.00 the leader of W21E starts
13.00 the leader of M21E starts

The chasing start will operate for 30 minutes. Those not within 30 minutes of the leader will take a mass start 10 minutes later.

Start number can be picked up at the Start area.

 Competition classes:

Women, Men 8, 10 (both marked course), 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21E (WRE), 21A, 21B, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, OPEN1, OPEN2.

 Distance to the start from the event centre and Course length:

22.04. - 600m from the event centre to the start (No.1), the warm-up area (map) near the event centre arena.
23.04. - 600m from the event centre to the start (No.1)

The start (No.2) for classes WM8, WM10, WM85 , M90, OPEN1, OPEN2 will be close to the event centre arena both days.
Course parameters can be changed a little according to the amount of participants.

*Marked course for classes M8, M10, W8 and W10.
Maximum running time is 2,5 hours for all classes.

Warm-up maps are available at competitions centre registration.

The main prize, that is sponsored by the association SAA "Magnets", will be given to the winners of overall ranking in MW21E classes.

Money prizes:     1st place - 350 EUR     2nd place - 250 EUR     3rd place - 200 EUR     4thplace - 150 EUR     5th place - 100 EUR     6th place - 50 EUR

The 3 best runners in 1st days WRE event will be awarded with a medal and a diploma.

In the other classes top 3 runners in the overall ranking will receive prizes.

 Event centre and forbidden area:

 Terrain description:

Mixed forest with young pines. Detailed dune terrain. The highest point – 25m above the sea level. Runnability from excellent to average. The map is renewed in 2016./2017. Mappers - Andrejs Birums (2012.), Maris Strautnieks (2016./2017.).

 Time-keeping and GPS tracking

SPORTIDENT time-keeping system will be used. Both contactless and contact punching will be enabled at Riga Cup event.
There will be radio controls in the forest supported by:

Selected athletes in the elite classes will receive GPS trackers.
GPS trackers will be given to 10 highest ranked athletes according to World Ranking in classes MW21E. List of runners with GPS tracking devices HERE

Online entry will be opened on 1st December, 2016.
Deadline for the entries is Monday, 17^th April 2017. After 17^th April only vacant places will be available for an additional 50% of the entry fee.

In case of loss full value of the SI card must be refunded.

 Climate and weather:

The climate in Latvia is typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly severe winters. The winter is over by the beginning of April and the average temperature in Latvia in the end of April is around 8°C with rather cool nights but warm and mainly sunny days with up to 15-18°C.
